Do you have questions or concerns about air pollution and its impacts? Help us build necessary conversations around air quality, climate change, health, and environmental justice to advocate for solutions.
Whether you’re new to advocacy or an experienced advocate, we invite you to join the Clean Air Advocacy Training sessions July 16th and July 25th. Each session will offer tools and resources to act on and advocate for cleaner air, as well as an opportunity to build connections with local air quality professionals working on these issues.
Session topics will address:
SESSION 1: Air Quality 101
July 16, 11:00 am -12:30 pm
This session will cover air quality monitoring efforts, both locally and county wide, within the Historic West End. Residents will also learn how to find and understand data on exposure, as well as how to get involved in air monitoring around their homes.
SESSION 2: Primer on Air Permits & Zoning
July 25, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
This session will cover tools residents can use to determine the location of pollution sources in their community, as well as resources to increase engagement in air permitting and zoning decisions. Participants will also learn how community benefits agreements can be used to negotiate reductions in air pollution with local polluting entities.
